What to Expect From Your Painting Masterclass
I designed these Norfolk painting masterclasses for artists who want to spend time properly observing and responding to the landscape while developing their confidence painting outdoors with acrylics.
Rather than working from photographs, we’ll paint directly within the landscape at Pensthorpe Natural Park, exploring ways to simplify complex natural scenes, respond to changing light and build paintings with energy, atmosphere and texture.
Because the workshops are limited to just six people, I’m able to offer plenty of one-to-one guidance throughout the day in a calm and supportive setting.
Throughout the day, we’ll explore:
- Acrylic painting techniques for outdoor landscapes
- How to simplify a landscape composition
- Capturing reflections, atmosphere and changing light
- Colour mixing inspired by the natural environment
- Brushwork and texture techniques
- Building confidence painting outdoors
Who These Workshops Are Suitable For?
These masterclasses are best suited to adults with some previous painting experience who would like to develop their confidence and skills in outdoor acrylic landscape painting.
You do not need to be an advanced artist, but a basic understanding of painting materials and techniques will help you get the most from the day.
Because places are limited to just six participants, the workshops offer a calm and supportive environment with plenty of individual feedback.
