Art has supported me for the whole of my adult life. After leaving college I spent many years illustrating educational books for children. This was how I learned how to draw with accuracy and to be brave with colour.

Moving from Essex to Norfolk over 20 years ago meant a complete change in my artistic endeavours. Influenced by the light and atmosphere of the vast Norfolk sky I began to paint with oils on canvas and this has been the theme for my work ever since.

I have worked with galleries, publishers and private clients over the years. I founded The Art Academy which grew rapidly as a centre for creative learning. This became a focus for the last few years and I am proud of what this has achieved and offers still.

In the last year I have developed a new body of work, combining the intense colour and wild drama of coastal landscapes and skies with elements of realism. My work is continuing to evolve as I seek to bring sparkling detail with layers of dreamlike colour to the canvas and to create work that people feel an emotional connection to.
